Jazz Fest Preview pt. I: Black Joe Lewis

Jazz Fest month is officially upon us. What the annual sweaty groove gala lacks in web design, it makes up for in booking. And let’s not get started on the late-night lineups.

And so begins our Jazz Fest preview series, featuring a track every day or four from some of the acts we have circled on the schedule.

Like Gary Clark Jr.? Then chances are you’re probably already hip to his Austin comrade, Black Joe Lewis. With a little more ’60s soul and a little less Hendrix than Clark Jr., Lewis and his Honeybears are poised to soak in some of the peripheral spotlight that’s shining so bright these days on Austin’s fresh crop of blues badassery.

Bonus: O.V. Wright

Enjoy. Next up: Not sure yet.
